ASC (Air Saving Control)

Energy saving

ASC (Air Saving Control)

AIR SAVING CONTROL (ASC) technology is at the core of the Vacuum Pumps.
With this new mini vacuum pump, the guiding principle is energy savings. For the first time Vacuum Pumps integrates technology known as: ASC (Air Saving Control). It generates energy savings of between 60% and 97%, depending on the products to be handled.

The ASC activates to limit energy consumption at two levels:

• Air is only consumed to create the vacuum and allows the piece to be gripped and moved. Once the adjusted vacuum level is reached a valve closes, allowing the piece to be held without any energy being used. If the vacuum level drops, an air intake is generated until it returns to its initial level.

• The ASC analyses the application and adapts itself to airtight or porous pieces in order to optimize operation and energy consumption.

ASC Cycle

ASC Cycle

As shown above, the vacuum pump develops the ASC cycle, thus providing maximum energy economy, by following the below 3 steps:

1- Product gripping
The "vacuum" solenoid valve ➋ starts the cycle by feeding air pressure to the venturi ➌ that generates vacuum for gripping the product ➔ short time air consumption.

2- Operations on vacuum-held product
The vacuum level is continuously measured by vacuum sensor ➏. When vacuum reaches V1 threshold (65%), the "gripped product" signal is sent to authorize the operations (transfer, machining ...) on the product. When vacuum reaches V2 threshold (75%), the solenoid valve ➋ cuts off the venturi supply ➔ air consumption totally stops. The product is then held by the remaining vacuum retained by the closing of the vacuum non-return valve➎.
Micro-leaks generally make the vacuum level drop slowly. Each time it reaches 65%, a short vacuum generation puts the vacuum level back up to 75%.

3- Product release
At the end of operations, release is piloted. The "blow-off" solenoid valve ➑ sends an air jet that closes the isolation valve ➓ and blows off the product for a fast release. Blow-off flow is adjustable via the regulator ➒.

ASC automatically provides a 60% to 99% energy saving, depending on the application: return on investment in just a few months.
